Why does tax software show my NJ wages as twice what they should be?

When you have 2 states listed on a single w-2, it lists the taxable wages separately for each state. The software is adding the 2 lines together because your state of residence taxes worldwide income. NY taxes only the income that you earned in NY. You must override the calculated amount for state wages on your NJ return. I'm not sure how you would do that..
