When putting a dog or a cat to sleep?

My veterinarian doesn't put a blindfold on animals, or do anything like that. Frankly, I haven't heard of it being done that way. I think it would be more humane for them to see the people they love and that love them, yes. But I would have to disagree on the part where you state "their body slowly shuts down". Humanely euthanizing an animal is the quickest way to go. Within seconds they have ped on. It's not anywhere near slow. But anyway, blinding an animal while they are being put down is cruel and inhumane I think, unless the animal would feel more comfort that way. Where did you hear that from?
