Can a cop enter your house just to arrest you with no warrant?

i called the cops because my ex-husband is some-what stalking me and the cops arrived and said there was nothing they could do cuz he was walking on a public road. I admittedly got a little loud at that point and went inside my home. The officer then forced his way past my 9 year old son slamming him into the wall on his way into the kitchen where he attempted to grab my 15 year old daughter at that point momma bear kicked in and I made him release my daughter he then threw me around my kitchen ultimately arresting me, if he had looked across the street he would have seen my ex-husband hiding in the bushes watching me get arrested. he was never asked or invited into my home. did he have the right to enter my house for a charge of disorderly conduct. Thats all he could arrest me for cuz I dont even j-walk
