Does Internal Eye bleeding leads to blindness.?

My father has diabetic and thank God that the worst is over. His kidney test is fine but Doc said that he spotted internal bleeding in the eye. More test will be done this week. But does internal eye bleeding will lead to blindness and can it be cured? Thank You.
