No locking mechanisms unless you added a locking lug or a lock and cable around the spare. The vehicle doesn't come with anything from the factory. Just lift the right rear seat and all the tools you need will be there except for the jack which is in the back left corner of the vehicle. Everything esle is just like any other vehicle tire change.
