Does wiring money to a bank in the U.S. take longer from a different country?

I have a contract with someone regarding fee for services, meant to be paid in installments. The final installment 'deadline' ped, so I called the client on his cell phone to ask politely for the final payment ($1,900), and he said, 'no problem, I'll wire it to you,' and he took down my bank info (name, account, bank routing #. He happens to be vacationing in a very upscale tourist resort (he isn't exactly poor) in another country. I'd think since it is an international resort area there are facilities to do this. If he did or does wire the money, how long would it take to get from his bank account to mine here in the U.S?
